The Basser Center's mission is to deliver cutting edge research in basic and clinical sciences to advance the care of individuals who carry BRCA gene mutations.

Located within Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center, the center focuses exclusively on BRCA1 and BRCA2. The Basser Center is the first comprehensive BRCA-focused center of its kind with research initiatives ranging from the basic biology of BRCA-related cancers to communication of BRCA test results within families.

Basser Global Prize

The Basser Global Prize honors a visionary scientist who has conceptually advanced BRCA1/2 related research that has led to improvements in clinical care.

Basser Grants

The Basser Center provides annual funding opportunities to University of Pennsylvania and external investigators working on BRCA1 and BRCA2 related projects.
